In 2004, Roy was selected as the greatest goaltender in NHL history by a panel of 41 writers, coupled with a simultaneous fan poll. On November 13, 2006, Roy was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. He is the only player in NHL history to win the Conn Smythe Trophy 3 times, the only one to do so in different decades, and the only one to do so for two teams. Roy's number 33 jersey is retired by both the Canadiens and Avalanche
Sakic retired from the NHL on July 9, 2009, and had his jersey number retired on October 1, 2009, at the Pepsi Center. On November 12, 2012, Sakic was inducted in the Hockey Hall of Fame. On April 11, 2013, Sakic and 11 others were inducted into the Canada Sports Hall of Fame. In 2017, Sakic was named one of the '100 Greatest NHL Players' in history.
Forsberg won four gold medals with Sweden in his career. Combined with his two Stanley Cup championships, he is a member of the Triple Gold Club and the only Swede who has won each of the three competitions twice. In 2013, he was inducted to the IIHF Hall of Fame, and in 2014, he was elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
